Responsibilities

As a writing teacher at Innovative Academy, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing comprehensive writing curricula tailored to various grade levels and learning needs.
• Creating a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
• Teaching various writing formats, including narrative, expository, persuasive, and technical writing.
• Providing constructive feedback on student work to promote improvement and growth.
• Integrating technology and digital media into the writing process to enhance learning outcomes.
• Organizing writing workshops, contests, and extracurricular activities to engage students outside of the classroom.
• Collaborating with fellow teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
• Participating in professional development to stay current with educational best practices and trends in teaching writing.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in writing or language arts.
• Strong knowledge of the writing process and familiarity with different writing genres.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and a commitment to promoting inclusion in the classroom.
• Proficient in using technology for teaching, including online platforms and educational software.
